I was one of 12 artists in Nina Bednarksi's curated show titled Temple in Milwaukee last weekend. The show had gotten great press from Milwaukee Journal Sentinel for being 1 0f 10 must see galleries in Milwaukee for the Spring 2014 gallery night.
I made tintypes of objects from Nina's temple alone with cases for them to fit in. The process of learning the craft of making tintypes along with molding the cases has been a passion for the last year. Applying them in this setting gave life to mix the old and the new with making something by hand. Something we all can do, yet sparingly explore in a digital world.
Coming together to work, share and meet new people was truly rewarding and thank all who participated. Luke Bassuener's solo project Asumaya provided a fitting sound for the gallery giving a compliment to the energy produced from the space. Special thanks to Nina for her determination and persistence in seeing her vision come to life. You did a wonderful job, bravo!
